The Celts were afraid that the Romans, who occupied England and Wales, would invade Ireland also. They created their own script so they could send secret messages to each other. Its is called the Ogham alphabet.
But its meaning goes much deeper. Every letter also stands for a tree and has a spiritual, divinatory interpretation.
